Welcome . . .

eSchool Mission . . .
To create a borderless classroom based on a positive student-teacher relationship that fosters independent, innovative critical thinking and empowers students to thrive, contribute, and compete in a global society.

The Core Four . . .

. . .  We Believe that successful education can take many forms, and eSchool is committed to utilizing technology to facilitate student ownership by adapting to individual learning styles, lifestyles, and talents.

. . .  We Believe that eSchool is an innovative, comprehensive educational approach that uses technology to eliminate boundaries by empowering students with the opportunity to develop the skills needed to be successful in an information-driven, global society.

. . .  We Believe that eSchool provides online relationships rooted in support, passion for learning and commitment to each individual student’s success that encourages students to expand both their self-efficacy and self-discipline.

. . .  We Believe that eSchool focuses on transitioning students from a traditional educational system to an ever-evolving, innovative learning environment that allows them to control their academic success.

eSchool is one of the instructional programs and services available through Plano ISD as it fulfills its mission to provide an excellent education for all students.  As your child’s first and most important teacher, you are our valued partner in delivering a strong, positive online educational experience for your student.

Therefore, we invite you . . . to explore some important information about eSchool to help you decide if online courses are a good learning option for your student.

Online learning is a good option for a student who is self-motivated and enjoys working independently.  For more complete information, read Step 1 on the for Students page.

If your student attends a public school, please talk with your campus counselor, or representative, to ensure that the course/s you are considering will work for credit with your student’s graduation plan.

Students may register for 2 online courses at a time.  However, a student needing both semesters of a 2 semester course must register for and complete the 1st semester before registering for the 2nd semester

Plano ISD students may take no more than 3 full credits through a combination of correspondence and eSchool courses.  eSchool courses are not factored into a student’s GPA.  Online courses are GPA neutral.  [Reference Plano ISD School Board Policy EHDE Local]

"I must say it is soooo easy to 'partner' with you.  You have been so helpful and positive!  Stephanie has really been doing well.  She understood the material and was able to work through it without being overwhelmed. ..."               parent

eSchool online courses provide a great deal of flexibility for students as they work to meet their educational goals.  However, there are also specific guidelines and structures in place to motivate and monitor each student’s progress.  For example:

  • Each student has a specific schedule for completing and turning in assignments and must adhere to that schedule.
  • In order to receive credit for an online course, a student must complete all course assignments, projects, and tests and earn a passing average in the process.  A student may not "skip" assignments in the course and still earn credit.
  • The key to success in an online course is good online communication with the teacher.  Therefore, the student must maintain email communication with the teacher.
  • Communication with the eSchool teacher must be online, through email only.

Once your student has registered for an eSchool course, you may monitor progress and grades:

  • Log onto the course website:   courses.pisd.edu
  • Enter your student’s username and password.
  • Click on the name of the course listed in the upper right of the screen.
  • Click on the Tools button on the left of the screen.
  • Click on the Grades button in the middle of the screen.

"I just wanted to say 'thank you' for the extra encouragement you gave Brock in completing his assignments . . . . Between soccer practices, end of school activities and out of town travel. . . I was beginning to wonder if he would make the deadline.  Thanks to you, he crossed the finish line!"                                     parent
